Turkey - Erasmus + (16.10.15 - 25.10.15)
ISTANBUL (16.10 – 18.10)
Day 1st: Our journey started very early in the morning, at 4 a.m. Despite getting lost while travelling by tram, we managed to arrive in Instanbul. At the end of the day we met Erasmus group from Greece and went together to a restaurant to have supper.
Day 2nd: On the second day we did a lot of sightseeing. We could admire superb views and visit the most characteristic sites such as Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque. After having dinner at 2 p.m. we went on a 2-hour-long cruise by ferry. In the evening, we went to see the Taksim Galata tower, but unfortunately we got lost on our way back home. Eventually, after a very long and exhausting walk, we found our lovely hotel.
Day 3rd: On this day, we visited the Suleymann mosque and at 3 p.m. we had to go to the airport by tram and underground. Then we took a flight to Kayseri where we were warmly welcomed by one of the Turkish teachers and by our hosting families.
KAYSERI (19.10 – 25.10)
Day 1st: Our first day in Kayseri was devoted to integrating with other groups from Italy, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Greece and Turkey. We could find out some information about education system in Turkey. We were told about teaching methods and learning styles used respectively by the Turkish teachers and students. After lunch we visited a few places in Kayseri: Kayseri City Centre and University Library. After a day full of new impressions, we spent evening with our families.
Day 2nd: On Tuesday we showed our presentations concerning living conditions in Poland. After lunch we went on a trip to the Ercyies mountains. The views were so breathtaking that we couldn’t stop taking photos and making films. After such a nice stroll, we came back to Kayseri and had supper in Donas Fast food.
Day 3rd: This day started with an interesting lecture during which we were presented some useful techniques for effective reading. At the end of the workshops we were given a task consisting in reading a text about an artist and then,creating a motto that would reflect his personality and lifestyle. After a lunch break, we took part in a quiz concerning the issues brought up in our presentations. Later on, we went by bus to Kozakli Roza Resort hotel where we spent our evening swimming in the pool and talking to people from other countries.
Day 4th: In the morning, after finishing breakfast, we left the Roza Resort hotel and started our trip to Cappadocia during which we visited many historical museums and ancient Christian churches. We also took part in a pottery workshop. In the evening, we came back home and had supper with our hosting families.
Day 5th: After having some free time in the morning devoted to shopping, we met at school to have lunch at 1 o’clock. Then, we took part in a workshop on the ability of using Excel program. Later, we watched a traditional Turkish music show and after that there was a farewell party at school during which we could say goodbye to the teachers and students from Bulgaria and Greece.
Day 6th: On this day we also had some free time for shopping. After lunch, we went by tram to the Mazakaland – the biggest theme park in the region. The first item of the program included seeing animals in the zoo. Then we reached a place where we found some roller-coster rides and many others.
Day 7th: In the morning we packed our luggage and left it in our teachers’ hotel. Later we went to the city centre to take part in the workshop on painting on the water. We could create there some pictures by ourselves and so we did. After that our group did some last shopping at a local market and later we went to the airport. After coming to Istanbul, we took our flight to Vienna and from there we came back to Gliwice.
